NEET UG Cut Off 2024

According to the current NMC data, the number of seats available for various courses in India is as follows:
- MBBS seats – Over 1 lakh
- BDS seats – 26,949
- AYUSH seats – 52,720
- BVSc & AH – 603
- Number of seats in AIIMS – 1,899
- Number of seats in JIPMER – 249
All these seats will be allotted in 612 medical and 315 dental colleges based on NEET 2024 scores.
Factors Affecting the 2024 NEET UG Cut-Off
Every year, the NEET UG cut-off score and the NEET passing marks change based on a number of variables, such as:
- The overall number of candidates
- Examination difficulty level
- Total number of seats that are accessible
Result Date for NEET 2024
NTA will announce the NEET 2024 results on 14 June 2024. The NEET UG 2024 result and the official NEET qualifying marks will be revealed simultaneously.
Tie Breaking Criteria for NEET UG Cut-Off 2024
NTA will adhere to the revised tie-breaking guidelines for NEET 2024 starting this year.
Previous NEET Tie Breaking Rule: NTA used to resolve tie-breakers by taking into account the scores in physics, chemistry, and biology, in that order of priority. If the tie persisted, the candidate who was older and had more negative ratings would be ranked higher.
New NEET Tie Breaking Rule: If there are any ties among candidates for Biology, the candidate with the highest grades in that subject will be given preference. In case there are still ties, preference will be given to candidates with higher grades in Chemistry. If the tie persists, the qualified candidates will be randomly selected by a computer-generated drawing, which eliminates human involvement.
Qualifying Cut-Off vs. Admission Cut-Off
NEET candidates must understand that the cut-off marks for NEET and NEET admission differ. The NEET Cutoff is the minimum score a candidate needs to achieve to be eligible to take the test in their respective category. Meeting this minimum percentile allows candidates to participate in the state and central counselling process for admission to medical colleges.
The NTA determines the NEET qualifying percentile. On the other hand, the NEET Admission Cut-Off is the minimum score or number that NEET-qualified candidates must meet to be considered for admission into specific medical or dental colleges in India for an MBBS or BDS programme. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and state conducting agencies release the NEET admission cut-off.
